Climate Change Division

Climate Change Division
Executive Manager, David Mortimer
Switchboard Ph: +61 2 6272 3933

Climate change is currently impacting on the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sectors. Climate change will set a broad range of challenges for these industries and it is important that they are presented with options which facilitate adjustment, promote productivity growth and encourage sustainability over the long term.

The Climate Change Branch coordinates the department’s policy response to climate change across the department, utilising the economic and scientific expertise in ABARE and the BRS. The branch also works closely with key policy areas across the department which have strong links with industry and a well developed understanding of challenges in different regions across Australia.
