Under section 8(2)(f) of the Freedom of Information Act 1982, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) is required to publish information about each public consultation it undertakes in the course of developing a specific policy proposal. This requirement has applied since 1 May 2011.

Future consultation processes
Research and development
- The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has announced that stakeholders will be consulted on the government’s proposed response to the Productivity Commission’s review of research and development arrangements.
- Timing of this is yet to be confirmed but is likely to be in 2011-12.
