The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) is required by the Freedom of Information Act 1982 s 11C to publish a disclosure log on its website. The disclosure log lists information which has been released in response to an FOI access request. This requirement has applied since 1 May 2011.

The disclosure log requirement does not apply to:

  • personal information about any person if publication of that information would be 'unreasonable'
  • information about the business, commercial, financial or professional affairs of any person if publication of that information would be 'unreasonable'
  • other information covered by a determination made by the Australian Information Commissioner if publication of that information would be 'unreasonable'
  • any information if it is not reasonably practicable to publish the information because of the extent of modifications that would need to be made to delete the information listed in the above dot points.

The information described in this register has been released by the department under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and is available for public access, generally for 12 months. Some information may remain on the disclosure log for longer than 12 months if it remains in the public interest.  

Information will be published on the disclosure log between one and 10 days after it is released to the FOI applicant. A link is provided if the information can be downloaded from this website or another website, or it will be available in Accessible Word and PDF.

Information that is not available on a website may be obtained by writing to the department. A charge may be imposed to reimburse the department for the cost incurred in copying or reproducing the information or sending it to you. There will be no charge for the time spent by the department in processing the FOI request that led to this information being made available. You will be notified if any charge is payable and required to pay the charge before the information is provided.

There may be documents in the disclosure log that are currently not available in html format. If you are unable to read the format provided please contact the FOI Coordinator. We will try to meet all reasonable requests for an alternate format of the document in a timely manner and at the lowest reasonable cost to you.

FOI 2011/12-39 4 May 2012 Voyage of the MV Bader
An application seeking access to documents in relation to the voyage of the MV Bader that departed Fremantle on or about 31 October 2011.

FOI 2011/12-46 27 April 2012 The applicant requested documentation held by the department in relation to a meat export licence. Four documents released in full. Two documents released in part under s 47F(1).  
FOI 2011/12-36 30 April 2012 2011 credit card transactions
An FOI application seeking access to details of departmental credit card use from 1 January 2011 to 4 January 2012, for Executive Level 1 officers through to Secretary level.
2 documents were created and released in full. To obtain copies of the released documents, contact DAFF's FOI Coordinator. The department's corporate credit cards are the preferred method for low value purchases. Credit card guidelines and procedures are documented in the department's Corporate Credit Card Manual and Chief Executive's Instructions. Regular compliance reporting is undertaken as part of the department's Certificate of Compliance process that is required of Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 agencies. The Certificate process is designed to improve and monitor compliance with the Australian Government's financial management framework and to ensure that ministers are kept informed of compliance issues within their portfolios.
Should a corporate credit card be used or alleged to be used inappropriately, accidentally and or as part of an unavoidable coincidental expenditure, the cardholder must inform the authorising officer and the corporate credit cards finance team in writing, outlining the circumstances. All alleged inappropriate use is referred to the Fraud & Security Team in Government Division for recording and further investigation if deemed potentially fraudulent.
FOI 2011/12-35 31 March 2012 Forestry agreements
An application seeking access to documents in relation to Deeds of Agreement between the Commonwealth and grant recipients under the Tasmanian Community Forest Agreement from 2005-2007.
