The recruitment process

Shortlisting

Once all applications have been received applications will be shortlisted and candidates will be selected to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process. Over the past three years we have averaged 900 to 1300 applications each year, so the quality of your application is important.

Second stage assessment

Approximately 350 candidates will be invited to complete an online written test. It is anticipated that online testing will take place during mid May.

Information from the online assessment will be combined with the information collected through the online application and will be re-assessed to select approximately 210 candidates to proceed to the final stage of our recruitment process.

Final assessment

Applicants selected for the final stage of the assessment process will be expected to undertake a combination of a group exercise and interview with a panel of senior staff from the department.

From the information gathered at these assessment sessions the department will select the successful graduates to join the Graduate Development Program.

Please note that if you are successful in advancing to the assessmentsessions you will be provided with further information that will assist you on the day.

It is expected that assessment sessions will be conducted nationally during June/July.
