Action Grants
The Advancing Agricultural Industries program has concluded.
Current projects will continue through to completion, but no further funding calls will be made under the program.
Western Dairy: aims to address identified labour skills and training needs within the Western Australian Dairy Industry. Value of project: $21 000 (GST exclusive).
International Livestock Resources & Information Centre: aims to develop and expand standards and infrastructure to a national quality assurance scheme for beef cattle genetics. The standards will encompass all relevant Australian beef breeding cattle and genetic material; and will enable the provision of national quality assurance certification of all relevant cattle breeds for export. Value of project: $500 000 (GST exclusive).
Vegetables WA: includes a desktop study to draw together information from clinical trials on the dietary interventions with vegetables and fruit, in the management of chronic diseases. A stakeholder analysis will also be conducted to develop a greater understanding of the communication needs of the target consumer audience. Value of project: $118 000 (GST exclusive).
Cherry Growers of Australia: aims to improve industry coordination; build a stronger understanding of the cherry operating environment; and better position the industry to take advantage of domestic and international markets, through an industry summit. Value of project: $250 000 (GST exclusive).
Australian Olives Association: aims to implement the outcomes of the Action Partnership Project of March 2006 to April 2007. These include the development and adoption of the Code of Practice; implementation of a more broadly based and vertically integrated national industry representative structure; and establishment of a benchmarking model. Value of project: $318 182 (GST exclusive).
Australian Fodder Industry: aims to improve the fodder industry’s ability to deliver programs to ensure fodder conservation in Australia is sustainable; develop the ability of producers to supply fodder with quality attributes needed for all markets; and to ensure livestock producers are more self-reliant during dry times. Value of project: $270 000 (GST exclusive).
Grains Council of Australia: aims to re-align the Australian grains industry in response to the changing operating environment under which the industry finds itself; and develop and progress strategies to respond to new challenges and opportunities. Value of project: $80 000 (GST exclusive).
Winemakers of Rutherglen: aims to position the industry towards compliance with the Australia – European Union Wine Agreement through brand attribute analysis and re-naming of Australian fortified wines (particularly Sherry and Tokay). Value of project: $500 000 (GST exclusive).
