Farm Help
Farm Help provided up to 12 months income support to farmers in severe financial difficulty who were unable to borrow further against their assets. A grant of up to $5,500 was available to access professional advice and training and a re-establishment grant of up to $75,000 was available to Farm Help customers who decided to sell their farm enterprise and leave farming.
Applications for Farm Help closed on 30 June 2008. The deadline to use advice and training vouchers and for claiming a re-establishment grant was 30 April 2009. For those customers who had applied to the program before 30 June 2008, income support payments were available for up to twelve months.
