General Food Standards
There are currently ten Codex committees and one taskforce in operation that develop general standards and guidelines that cut across industry.
- Task Force on Animal Feeding
- Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance (abolished)
- Contaminants in Food
- Food Additives
- Food Additives and Contaminants (abolished - now split into Contaminants in Food and Food Additives)
- Foods Derived From Biotechnology (abolished)
- Food Hygiene
- Food Import and Export Certification and Inspection Systems
- Food Labelling
- General Principles
- Methods of Analysis and Sampling
- Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses
- Pesticide Residues
- Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Food
Food Commodity Standards
There are eleven committees and one taskforce in operation that develop specific standards and guidelines related to food commodity groupings (however, eight have completed their main tasks and have been adjourned until further notice). These are:
- Cereals, Pulses and Legumes (adjourned)
- Cocoa Products and Chocolate (adjourned)
- Fats and Oils
- Fish and Fishery Products
- Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
- Fruit and Vegetable Juices (adjourned)
- Meat Hygiene (adjourned)
- Milk and Milk Products (adjourned)
- Natural Mineral Waters (adjourned)
- Processed Fruits and Vegetables
- Sugars (adjourned)
- Vegetable Proteins (adjourned)
