Vegetable Proteins
Codex Committee on Vegetable Proteins (Host Government – Canada)
This committee has adjourned until further notice as it has completed its main tasks, however, it may be called to meet again if required.The committee was responsible for elaborating definitions and world-wide standards for vegetable proteins deriving from members of the plant kingdom as they came into use for human consumption. It also elaborated guidelines on the use of vegetable protein products in the food supply system and looked at other issues such as nutritional requirements, safety and labelling.
