Burnett
Exceptional circumstances assistance for the Burnett declared area will cease on 15 June 2009.
Agriculture-dependent small business operators who derive 70 per cent of their turnover from agriculture in any EC declared area are also eligible to apply for assistance.
Note: If your small business: is located in a town that is substantially reliant on farm incomes and has a population of 10,000 or less; and is in an EC area (including prima facie areas); and can demonstrate a significant downturn in income due to the drought, you may be eligible for assistance.
Producers and small business operators should not self-assess their eligibility for income support but should call the Drought Assistance Hotline on 13 23 16.

Area Description
The Burnett EC declared area covers Upper Brisbane Valley, that being Crows Nest, Esk and Pine Rivers Shires west of Samford Road, the Samford-Dayboro Road and the Dayboro-Mt Mee Road; South Burnett, that being Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, Murgon, Kilkivan, Gayndah and Mundubbera Shires and Rosalie Shire east of the Great Dividing Range; and Eastern Burnett, that being Woocoo, Biggenden, Isis, Perry, Kolan, Eidsvold and Monto Shires.
Buffer Zone
A seven kilometre buffer zone extends into the adjoining shires of Burnett, Miriam Vale, Calliope, Banana, Brisbane City and Pine Rivers.
