South West Queensland Revised
Exceptional circumstances for the South West Queensland Revised declared area was recently announced by the Hon. Tony Burke MP, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Assistance is available until 15 June 2010.
The South West Queensland Revised EC declared area includes the area west of the Mitchell Highway in Paroo Shire, the shires of Bulloo, Quilpie and Barcoo and parts of the Longreach Regional Council and the Blackall Tambo Regional Council.
Agriculture-dependent small business operators who derive 70 per cent of their turnover from agriculture in any EC declared area are also eligible to apply for income support payments and interest rate subsidies.
Note: If your small business: is located in a town that is substantially reliant on farm incomes and has a population of 10,000 or less; and is in an EC area (including prima facie areas); and can demonstrate a significant downturn in income due to the drought, you may be eligible for assistance.
Producers and small business operators should not self-assess their eligibility for income support but should call the Drought Assistance Hotline on 13 23 16.

Area Description
The South West Queensland Revised EC declared area covers the area west of the Mitchell Highway in Paroo Shire, the shires of Bulloo, Quilpie and Barcoo and the southern portion of the Longreach Regional Council from the Barcoo shire boundary along the Bimerah-Isisford Road, then the Four Corners-Glenloch Road to the Thirty Mile-Wahroongha Road, which is followed south to the Emmet Road, which is followed to Emmet and then to the Yaraka-Blackall Road to the Blackall Tambo Regional Council boundary.
