Central North-East including Annex
From 24 October 2006, all producers in the declared area are eligible to apply for income support payments and interest rate subsides.
Agriculture-dependent small business operators who derive 70 per cent of their turnover from agriculture in any EC declared area are also eligible to apply for income support payments and interest rate subsides.
Note: If your small business: is located in a town that is substantially reliant on farm incomes and has a population of 10,000 or less; and is in an EC area (including prima facie and interim assistance areas); and can demonstrate a significant downturn in income due to the drought, you may be eligible for assistance.
Producers and small business operators should not self-assess their eligibility for income support but should call the Drought Assistance Hotline on 13 23 16.

Area Description
The Central North-East EC declared area covers the Soil Conservation Boards of Part Eastern Districts, North East Pastoral District, Northern Flinders Ranges, Part Marree, Part Central Flinders, Hundreds of Kanyaka, Boolcunda, Palmer, Part Moockra, Cudlamudla, Uroonda, Yanyarrie, Eurilpa, McCulloch, Bendleby, Oladdie, Yalpara, Erskine, Morgan, Cavenagh, Paratoo, Coglin, Nackara, Gumbowie, Parnaroo and Hardy.
The area is bounded in the south by the River Murray, in the east by the border with NSW, in the north by the Bollards Lagoon road and in the west by Lake Torrens and the Soil Board boundary that follows the break between cropping and permanent grazing. This area includes five cattle properties outside the dog fence that adjoins severely drought-affected areas of NSW and the pastoral properties of Mulgaria, Witchelina, Callanna, Muloorina, Mundowdna, Marree Station, Wilpoorinna, Farina, and Mount Lyndhurst.
The Central North-East Annex lies to the north of the Central North East EC area and covers the pastoral properties of Murnpeowie, Etadunna, Mulka and Muloorina (which include Clayton and Dulkaninna). The area is bounded by Strzelecki Regional Reserve, Mungeranie Station and the Lake Eyre Regional Reserve. To the west of the Central North East EC area, the annex covers the pastoral properties of Part Mulgaria, Andamooka and Bosworth, as well as the properties of the Gawler Ranges Soil Conservation Board to the east of Lake Gairdner and a line due south of Lake Gairdner.
Buffer Zone
A Buffer Zone applies to farmers whose properties are wholly or partly within the remainder of the Central Flinders Soil Conservation Board District.
