North Eastern Wheatbelt
All producers in the declared area are eligible to apply for income support payments and interest rate subsidies.
Agriculture-dependent small business operators who derive 70 per cent of their turnover from agriculture in any EC declared area are also eligible to apply for income support payments and interest rate subsidies.
Note: If your small business: is located in a town that is substantially reliant on farm incomes and has a population of 10,000 or less; and is in an EC area (including prima facie and interim assistance areas); and can demonstrate a significant downturn in income due to the drought, you may be eligible for assistance.
Producers and small business operators should not self-assess their eligibility for income support but should call the Drought Assistance Hotline on 13 23 16.

Area Description
The North Eastern Wheatbelt EC declared area covers Mullewa Shire east of the following in the agricultural region: from the northern edge of the agricultural region, follow the Murchison Mullewa Road to Mullewa; from Mullewa, follow the Mullewa Wubin Road to the Mullewa/Morawa Shire boundary.
In Morawa Shire, the entire area east of the Mullewa Wubin Road in the agricultural region.
In Perenjori Shire, east and north of the following roads in the agricultural region: from the Morawa-Perenjori Shire boundary follow the Mullewa Wubin road through the town of Perenjori to Rothsay Road. Follow Rothsay Road east to the edge of the agricultural region.
Buffer Zone
A Buffer Zone extends out from the EC declared area in the agricultural areas of the following shires (south to north):Perenjori - Firstly, In only the agricultural area, the area south of the Perenjori to Rothsay Road, east of the Mullewa Wubin Road, and north of the Perenjori/Dalwallinu Shire boundary being mostly Wilder Road. Also, secondly, west of the Mullewa Wubin Road to the western shire boundary up to 30 kms south west and south from the Perenjori/Rothsay Road.
Morawa - 15 kms west of the Mullewa Wubin Road.
Mullewa - In only the agricultural area, the area north and east of the following - from the Morawa/Mullewa Shire boundary -15 kms west of the Mullewa Wubin Road to the Geraldton Mullewa Road. West along the Geraldton Mullewa Rd to Tenindewa. North west along the Yuna Tenindewa Rd to the Mullewa Chapman Valley Shire boundary to the edge of the agricultural boundary Chapman Valley - In only the agricultural area, the area north and east of the following - continue north west along the Yuna Tenindewa Rd from the Mullewa Chapman Valley Shire boundary, west through Yuna on the Chapman Valley Road, onto Nolba Rockwell Rd, north up Nolba Rd to the Chapman Valley Northampton Shire boundary.
Northampton - In only the agricultural area, the area east of the following - from the Chapman Valley Northampton Shire boundary, continue north up Nolba Rd, north up Whitehurst Rd, Horan Rd, and Mongeragarry Rd, east on the Binnu East Rd, north up Diepeveen Rd, and east on the Ajana East Rd to the edge of the agricultural boundary.
For farmers whose properties do not lie wholly or partly within the buffer zone, but the nearest part of the farm lies within reasonable proximity of the buffer zone, may be considered.
