The main focus of the Food Safety Quality Initiative (FSQI) is to improve Australia’s food safety auditing infrastructure. 

An industry/government National Food Safety Auditor Competency Steering Committee functioned from April 2003 to April 2004 to guide the development of a national food safety auditor management framework.
