Human Influenza Pandemic Preparedness

Australian Governments have been involved in preparation and planning for a potential human influenza pandemic. As part of this planning, the Australian Government Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research has developed two information and planning tools for use by businesses (and other organisations) to get them started with their pandemic planning:

The Guide is a comprehensive and practical information and planning tool prepared by the Australian Government to assist businesses prepare for a potential pandemic – a global outbreak of a new strain of influenza. The Kit provides tools and information for use by small businesses.

These products were prepared in consultation with industry associations, Australian Government agencies and relevant state and territory government stakeholders.

The Department of Families, Housing, Communities and Indigenous Affairs has also developed a business continuity toolkit for non-government organisations (NGOs) in a pandemic context.

The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research has information on Being Prepared for an Influenza Pandemic. You can also find out more about Australia’s health response on pandemic influenza at www.health.gov.au/pandemic.

A generic, all hazards pantry list has been developed by the Austrlaian food industry in the interests of the community.  See www.pantrylist.com.au.
