About Intensive Livestock and Game
Through the Intensive Livestock and Game Section, the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry regularly engages producers, processors and industry bodies to co-ordinate industry positions on relevant issues. We also assist industry development including through the administration of the Government's $24 million Pork Package since 1998, and facilitation of new levies and promotion programs, changes in levy rates and industry organisational restructures.
ILG works closely with the chicken, egg, pork and game industries and assists in the national development, analysis and reporting of issues facing these industries including
- industry assistance and industry levies
- data analysis
- market access and supply chain networks
- quality assurance
- program administration
- natural resource management
- animal health and welfare
- research, innovation and product development.
