Crops
Field crops include the cotton, fodder, grain, hemp, oilseeds, pulses, rice, seed, sugar, peanuts and tobacco industries.
In 2002-03, Australia produced 24 Mt of crops worth A$13.7b from total agricultural GVP of A$30.5b. The recent widespread drought has resulted in a significant decrease in farm production in 2002-03, with many crop production levels halved from 2001-02 levels. It is estimated that crop production will rebound in 2003-04 to be 44 Mt.
