Technical Market Support
Wheat Export Technical Market Support Grants
On 1 July 2008, the Australian Government implemented new wheat export marketing arrangements under which multiple accredited exporters are able to export Australian wheat in bulk.
As part of its transitional assistance package of up to $9.37 million, the government is providing up to $600,000 over three years for the Wheat Export Technical Market Support Grants Program. The program gives exporters of wheat, either in both bulk or bags and containers the opportunity to access up to $60,000 across all rounds of the program to establish technical market support arrangement for new customers.
Round one of the program has concluded with more than $180,000 awarded to nine wheat exporters across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
More than $150,000 was awarded to six exporters from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia under round 2 for projects in 2009-10.
A call for round 3 applications for funding during 2010–11 opened on 3 February 2010.
