As part of our leading role in minimising the impact of pests, diseases and contaminants on Australian agriculture, fisheries and forestry, the environment and social amenity, the department is responsible for conducting exercises that contribute towards enhancing Australia’s ability to manage the response to these threats.

Current exercise:

  • Exercise Odysseus (managing a national livestock standstill in response to an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease)
