Training activities and simulation exercises
As part of our leading role in minimising the impact of pests, diseases and contaminants on Australian agriculture, fisheries and forestry, the Biosecurity Services Group is responsible for conducting training and simulations exercises.
To date this has included (but has not been limited to):
- Exercise Hippolytus (tested animal disease diagnostics)
- Exercise Cowcatcher (tested the National Livestock Identification System)
- Exercise Eleusis (tested response to bird flu outbreak)
- Exercise Minotaur (tested response to a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak)
- Exercise Tethys (tested response to an aquatic disease outbreak)
