Exercises
As part of our leading role in minimising the impact of pests, diseases and contaminants on Australian agriculture, fisheries and forestry, the environment and social amenity, the department is responsible for conducting exercises that contribute towards enhancing Australia’s ability to manage the response to these threats.
To date this has included (but has not been limited to):
- Exercise Cowcatcher (National Livestock Identification System)
- Exercise Eleusis (response to bird flu outbreak)
- Exercise Hippolytus (animal disease diagnostics)
- Exercise Minotaur (response to a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak)
- Exercise Tethys (response to an aquatic disease outbreak)
