Notification of Proposed Pest Survey Program
Under Section 241 of the Land Protection (Pest And Stock Route Management) Act 2002 (‘the Act’), the Australian Plague Locust Commission will periodically be conducting surveys to monitor the
requirements of the Act in relation to nominated declared pests.
The purpose and scope of the program is to locate infestations of nominated locust species that pose a potential threat to pastures and crops, and to monitor/map the distribution and spread of locusts. The pest survey program may be undertaken in the following Queensland local government areas:

Blackall Regional Council
Boulia Shire Council
Bulloo Shire Council
Burke Shire Council
Carpentaria Shire Council
Central Highlands Regional Council
Charters Towers Regional Council

Diamantina Shire Council
Flinders Shire Council
Goondiwindi Regional Council
Isaac Regional Council
Longreach Regional Council
McKinlay Shire Council
Mt Isa City Council

The pest survey program will commence Friday 1 July 2011 and will continue until Saturday 30 June 2012.
A copy of the pest survey program can be inspected at the Australian Plague Locust Commission, Unit 7 / 50 Collie Street, Fyshwick, ACT. A copy is also available on the Australian Plague Locust Commission website during the period of the program.
