The APLC and your Environment
The APLC uses aerial spraying to control locust infestations deemed to be a threat to agricultural production. In recognising the sensitivity of the ecosystems in which it operates, the APLC is aware of its environmental, community and legislative responsibilities and continues collaborative research to minimise any detrimental impacts resulting from its activities.
This brochure answers a number of frequently asked questions about the environment and locust control. A list of the control agents currently used by the APLC is provided and their potential impact on the environment is compared.
