Consultative Committee on Emergency Plant Pests (CCEPP)
The Consultative Committee on Emergency Plant Pests (CCEPP) is the key technical body for coordinating national responses to Emergency Plant Pest incidents in Australia. It assesses the technical feasability of eradication of Emergency Plant Pest incursions in Australia.
Roles and Responsibilities
Information about the roles and responsibilities of the CCEPP can be found in Section 5.2 of PLANTPLAN.
The CCEPP makes recommendations to the National Management Group (see Section 5.1 of PLANTPLAN) on responses to Emergency Plant Pest incidents such as incursions.
The CCEPP may appoint a Scientific Advisory Panel to provide technical recommendations to assist various decision making processes.
Terms of Reference
The Terms of Reference for the CCEPP can be found in Section 5.2 of PLANTPLAN.
Membership
The CCEPP is made up of:
- standing representatives of Commonwealth, State and Territory plant health agencies
- representatives from Biosecurity Australia and the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service
- a representative from Plant Health Australia
- representatives from the affected plant industry, and
- technical experts appropriate for the plant pest of concern.

Chairing
The CCEPP is Chaired by the Chief Plant Protection Officer within the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
Secretariat
Secretariat support for the CCEPP is provided by the Office of the Chief Plant Protection Officer.
Meeting arrangements
Meetings of the CCEPP are convened as necessary, most often through teleconferencing and on some occasions face-to-face.
