The Australian Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing reform of Australia’s biosecurity system. The Budget provides for a smarter approach to the management of biosecurity risks – addressing threats to Australia’s primary production sectors, the environment and human health, while also supporting tourism and trade. DAFF manages quarantine controls at our borders to minimise the risk of exotic pests and diseases entering the country. DAFF also provides import and export inspection and certification to help retain Australia's highly favourable animal, plant and human health status and wide access to overseas export markets.
