Australian Biosecurity Awards
To reflect the change to a new Biosecurity Services Group (BSG), the stakeholder awards formerly known as the QEAC National Quarantine Awards (or Q–Awards) have been renamed to the Australian Biosecurity Awards.
The Australian Biosecurity Awards acknowledge individuals, community groups and organisations who have contributed to Australian quarantine and biosecurity management.
The Australian Biosecurity Awards maintain the previous Q-Awards structure, with commendations/nominations coming from work done across the entire biosecurity continuum including quarantine.
The awards are based on a four–tiered structure:
- Commendation
- Regional Biosecurity Awards
- Public Sector Award
- National Biosecurity Award.
Past winners of the National Quarantine Award include:
- Qantas
- eBay Australia
- the Torres Strait Islanders Media Association (TSIMA)
- Alcan Australia
- TNT Freight Management
- The 51st Far North Queensland Regiment
- Hunter Grain and Findlay Bulk Services
- The Newcastle Regional Museum
- The Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre
- Army Captain Kevin Hall
- Mr Bob McKay
- Stephen J. Morris.
