Aircraft, Vessels and Military

All aircraft, vessels and military arriving in Australia from overseas are subject to Australian quarantine requirements.

DAFF Biosecurity has a number of requirements and processes for international aircraft, including human health notification, aircraft disinsection, aircraft waste disposal and the quarantine in-flight announcement.

DAFF Biosecurity has inspection and reporting requirements to ensure that all vessels arriving in Australia comply with international health regulations and that any quarantine risk is adequately managed. The quarantine risk of each vessel entering Australian waters is assessed and necessary action is taken to ensure exotic pests and diseases are not introduced.

DAFF Biosecurity inspects all military equipment and the personal effects of military personnel.
