Exercise Talisman Saber 2011
This information will assist US military units and personnel visiting and/or exercising in Australia for Exercise TS11.
Exercise Talisman Saber 2011 (TS11) is a joint Australian and United States military exercise, focusing on operational and tactical interoperability through a high end, medium intensity scenario involving live, virtual and constructive forces. TS11 will be conducted in Australia in 2011, date to be confirmed.
AQIS's import and export inspection and certification is essential to maintaining Australia's highly favourable animal, plant and human health status and access to export markets. AQIS will inspect all military equipment prior to import to minimise the risk of exotic pests and diseases entering Australia. AQIS officers will also travel to offshore locations to pre-inspect US military equipment prior to arriving in Australia for the exercise; this will assist in keeping the quarantine risk offshore and meeting the short timeframe requirements of the US military for clearance.

- Arriving at Non-Proclaimed Ports: For aircraft or vessels that wish to arrive at a non-proclaimed port, such as Rockhampton Airport, Bradshaw Field Training Area, RAAF Curtin, Delamere Range or Shoalwater Bay Training Area, the captain, owner or agent must apply using a 20AA form 10 days prior to arrival. 20AA approvals are aircraft registration and date specific, therefore individual applications are required for each aircraft.
Any cargo that has not been cleared by AQIS that needs to be offloaded at a non proclaimed port, such as Tindal, Rockhampton Airport, Bradshaw Field Training Area, RAAF Curtin, Delamere Range, or Shoalwater Bay Training Area, must apply using a 20D form 10 days prior to arrival. AQIS will work with the US Military to ensure the most efficient method of application is utilised, e.g., one 20D application to cover each non-proclaimed port for the period of the exercise.
