Types of inspection for commercial vessels

AQIS ensures that all vessels arriving in Australia from overseas comply with International Health Regulations and that all quarantine risk posed by the vessels is adequately managed. This is achieved by:

  • assessing the quarantine risk of each vessel entering Australian waters
  • taking all actions necessary to ensure that the vessel does not introduce any exotic pests and diseases as determined by the risk assessment.
