There are a limited number of appointments outside of these hours which must be booked no later than 15:30 the day before the appointment. Appointments can be made the day after the arrival of the animal and are available Monday to Friday: these MUST be arranged directly with the office (not with an animal attendant). Please note that there is a maximum of two x 30 minute appointments per importer per week.
If you wish to cancel an appointment please do this within 24 hours of your appointment, failure to do this may result in AQIS cancelling future appointments you have made.
Appointments for special visits and exercising are for a maximum of 30 minutes ONLY.
Animals can not be exercised or groomed in the grooming row in the initial seven days following import or during visiting hours.
When visiting animals in isolation row, these appointments must be the last appointment for the day and all kennel management procedures as directed by the AQIS animal attendant must be observed.
Animals will not be permitted to leave their kennels for exercising where:
- the AQIS import conditions have not been met
- there are exotic disease concerns
- there are endemic disease concerns such as kennel cough
- a veterinarian has advised that an animal should not be exercised
- weather does not permit
For occupational health and safety purposes the exercise yards are closed in wet weather conditions and extreme heat. Please also note that exercise yards may be closed at any time at the discretion of station management without notice.
If you are unsure of any procedures or directions please ensure you seek immediate clarification from station staff.
It is our intention to provide a friendly and safe environment for you, the animals and our staff. To assist us in maintaining Quarantine integrity and achieving our occupational health and safety obligations please ensure that you follow the instructions in this Professional Dog Walking Company Orientation Package and any directions given by Quarantine staff.
