DAFF strives to grant an import permit for each application within 20 business days from the date of receipt. However, in exceptional circumstance it may take longer than 20 business days to assess and grant an import permit.

If any section of the application is completed incorrectly or further information is required, DAFF will attempt to contact you. This may result in a longer application processing time. Please allow additional time if you have elected to receive your import permit by fax or delivered by mail.

DAFF import permits are granted for entry into one quarantine station only. Should your quarantine station preference change, you will need to apply for an amendment. Please note that an amendment fee may be applicable.
