Explanatory notes:
- A separate application must be submitted for each commodity.
- Manual lodgement applies to applications that are scanned and emailed, faxed or posted (these applications are manually entered into the permit system by AQIS staff).
- eLodgement applies to applications received via AQIS's online lodgement system (these applications do not require AQIS staff to manually enter the information).
- A consignment for this purpose is defined as dogs and/or cats being sent to Australia, at the same time from the one country of origin, with the same importer and exporter details listed on the import permit application.
AQIS operates under the Australian Government Cost Recovery Policy administered by the Department of Finance and Deregulation. Once an AQIS import permit has been granted a refund cannot be issued as the services provided by AQIS have been completed.
