Other Pets

The links below provide the import conditions and quarantine requirements for other pets that currently can be imported into Australia.

  • Birds – Selected species from New Zealand only
  • Horses – AQIS approved countries only
  • Rabbits – New Zealand only

No other pets can be imported to Australia. These include such animals as; chinchillas, fish, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamster, lizards, mice, snakes, spiders and turtles.
