Dairy Export Industry Consultative Committee

The AQIS/Dairy Export Industry Consultative Committee (DEICC) is the principal advisory forum for consultation between AQIS and the dairy export industry on export certification, export market access and quarantine issues relevant to the industry.

The DEICC:

  • acts as the peak industry consultative group between AQIS and the dairy export industry on operational, policy and strategic issues
  • considers and provides advice to AQIS on relevant matters in the dairy export industry
  • ensures that DEICC acts as an effective conduit for information exchange between the dairy export industry and AQIS

Membership

The membership of the full DEICC consists of representatives from:
  • AQIS - Policy and Operations
  • Australian Dairy Products Federation
  • Australian Dairy Authorities' Standards Committee
  • Australian Dairy Corporation
  • Dairy export establishments
  • State dairy authorities
  • Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry - Australia - Livestock and Pastoral
  • Other interested stakeholders

From time to time, subcommittees are formed to discuss technical or policy issues. The subcommittees then report the outcomes through the full DEICC.

An ongoing subcommittee is utilised to discuss the financial performance of the AQIS Dairy Export Inspection Program.

Meetings

The DEICC meets once per year in Melbourne. Special meetings are also convened if urgent issues arise.
