European Union Cattle Accreditation Scheme EUCAS

The European Union Cattle Accreditation Scheme (EUCAS) is a national animal production system that allows the full traceability of all cattle within the scheme through the use of the National Livestock Identification Scheme (NLIS). The NLIS links individual animal identification to a central database and all animal movements in the scheme are registered on that database.

To further address European union market requirements for beef, all cattle within the accreditation scheme must not have been treated with Hormonal Growth Promotants (HGPs) at any time in their lives.

For more information on EUCAS contact the helpline Monday to Friday 8am-4pm on 1800 305 544, email the EUCAS Coordinator, or visit Meat and Livestock Australia's website.
