Industry Advice Notice 2001/38, issued 19 October 2001, advised:

The Australia-New Zealand Bilateral Quarantine Arrangement Systems Operation Manual (Amendment 4) Section 9 page 4 states that the following declaration is to be made on Notice of Intention to Export Prescribed Goods/Export Permit (EX28), EX 222’s and EX186’s:

The (commodity) covered by this Notice of Intention has been inspected on a grower line basis (or equivalent), for those quarantine pests categorised by New Zealand MAF and the tolerance for infested fruits has not been exceeded.

It has come to the attention of central office that this statement in its current form is unable to be entered into RFP’s in EXDOC.

The declaration has been amended to make it suitable for use in RFP’s, submitted to, and subsequently approved by New Zealand.

Effective immediately all Notice of Intention/Export Permits (EX28’s), EX222’s, EX186’s, and submitted RFP’s (EXDOC) should be endorsed with the following declaration:

The produce covered by this permit has been inspected on a grower line basis (or equivalent) for those quarantine pests categorised by NZ MAF and specified tolerances have not been exceeded.

Please ensure that appropriate documents for produce to New Zealand is endorsed with this statement.
