Biological Products
AQIS Biologicals Unit administers Australian quarantine conditions for the importation of biological products. These include animal or microbial derived products such as foods, therapeutics, laboratory materials, and vaccines.
Note: The Biologicals Unit does not manage the following commodities which are administered by the sections below:
- Plant produce - Grains, seeds, nursery stock, fruit & vegetables (AQIS Plant Programs)
- Live animals - including viable reproductive material (AQIS Live Animal Imports)
- Agricultural products - timber, dried fibre articles, herbs, used machinery (Treatments and Inspections - Import Clearance)
- Inspection and certification of products exported from Australia (Export)
