The purpose of this document is to advise what foreign certification is accepted by DAFF Biosecurity under the Imported Food Control Act 1992 and the procedures that must be followed when lodging entries with this approved certification.

Imported Food Notice 02-12 - BSE Certification requirements for imported beef and beef products

This Imported Food Notice details the requirements for government certification of food containing beef and beef products and the process of assessment, inspection and clearance of these foods under the Imported Food Inspection Scheme. Government certification must accompany every consignment of food containing beef and beef products to verify that the beef and beef product content of food was sourced only from approved countries.

IFN01-12 - Full declaration format Self-Assessed Clearance (SAC) must be lodged for risk foods with a value not exceeding $1000

Purpose: The purpose of this notice is to advise that from 1 September 2010 changes have been made to foods in the surveillance category. Surveillance foods will now be inspected or inspected and analysed in accordance with this notice. Entries in AIMS created from 1 September 2010 will have the tests applied as per this notice.

Purpose: This notice is to provide updated information clarifying the permissions for the use of konjac* in food.

*Note: Konjac is also known as, konjac flour, konjaku, konnyaku, glucomannan, yam flour, yam powder, taro flour, taro powder and is obtained from the tuber of the Amorphophallus spp.
