The Scheme: Onshore Quarantine Fumigation Scheme
The Onshore Quarantine Fumigation Scheme is a Compliance Agreement that allows accredited fumigators to perform onshore quarantine fumigation treatment of goods of general cargo (excluding perishable goods) under direction from AQIS using methyl bromide. It includes:
- assessing the goods as being suitable for fumigation with methyl bromide

Under the Scheme, certain prerequisites must be met by the Other Party before becoming a signatory to the Scheme:
- The other party must ensure that all employees operating under the Scheme comply with the relevant state/territory legislation relating to the performance of fumigations, and hold relevant licenses as required.
- The Other Party must successfully pass an initial audit against requirements of the Scheme.
- The Other Party must employ or utilise a minimum of one accredited person to carry out the activities specifically designated to an accredited person within the Onshore Quarantine Fumigation Scheme Operational Procedures Statements (OPS).
