Further to Notice to Industry 41/2009 issued 9 July 2009, advising that changes to the AEP for Commodities Scheme are scheduled for implementation during December 2009, this notice is to advise that a revised training course for the scheme will be available online through the Guardian training website www.iwgq.com from 8 October 2009.
The training course has been updated to reflect the planned changes to the scheme, including the addition of eight (8) new commodities which will be eligible for assessment under the scheme following implementation. The new commodities include:
- Milled rice
- Green coffee beans
- Fresh asparagus
- Fresh garlic
- Pre–cleared fresh grapes (exported USA only)
- Pre–cleared fresh tomatoes (exported NZ only)
- Fresh onions and shallots
- Used machinery
Eligibility requirements
People interested in undertaking this accreditation training must hold current accreditation under the Non–commodity for Containerised Cargo Clearance Scheme.
Training for existing accredited persons
All persons holding current accreditation under AEP for Commodities will be required to complete the revised training to retain their accreditation status, regardless of when they completed their initial accreditation training. There will be no exemptions issued for persons who have only recently become accredited under the scheme.
People who hold current AEP for Commodities accreditation must undertake the training between Thursday 8 October 2009 and Friday 13 November 2009 to remain accredited.
Training registration and costs
The training will be conducted online with access via www.iwgq.com. It will be made available on Thursday 8 October 2009.
To register for the training, participants will need to have their AQIS issued accreditation number. Persons wishing to confirm their AQIS accreditation number should contact the Co–regulation Administration and Support Program by email. Alternatively the Guardian site provides a facility that enables retrieval of accreditation numbers and passwords.
The cost of the training package is $135.00
