Application to Import Live Animals (Zoo animals, Lab animals, Birds and Eggs)
Application Form
There are now more options for completing and submitting the Application to Import Live Animals (Zoo Animals, Lab Animals, Birds and Eggs).
1. Complete and submit application form online (eLodgement)
The Application to Import Live Animals (Zoo Animals, Lab Animals, Birds and Eggs) can now be submitted and paid for electronically, within our secure environment. The application form is made up of 3 steps: Step 1 requires importer and exporter details, Step 2 requires animal details, Step 3 requires importer declaration and payment details.
Please note: If you are submitting application form online, payment must be made by credit card. The minimum fee for online lodgement is $75.00 and other charges will apply. Please refer to the Charging Schedule for Import Permit Applications to ensure you have authorised sufficient payment.

You can pay for the processing of your application by:
- Attaching a Credit Card Payment Form PDF [22kb] Word [121kb] to your application
OR
- Posting a bank cheque made out to the 'Collector of Public Monies, DAFF'. This must be in Australian dollars.
Submitting the Application Form with Payment
Fax or post your completed application form together with the credit card payment form or a bank cheque to:

AQIS aims to approve all import permit applications within 10 working days, provided that all required information has been received at the time of submission.
The omission of any required information will result in an extended processing period.
Please allow additional time for the import permit to be received by fax or post.
