New Plant Introduction Form
The Department of Agricuture, Fisheries and Forestry regulates plant imports by way of a permitted species list, which was formally adopted on the 7th July 1998. DAFF has developed import conditions for these permitted species to enable their safe introduction. These species and their import conditions are contained in the DAFF electronic quarantine database – ICON.
If you want to import a species that is not listed on ICON you must complete and submit a New Plant Introduction Form. The information you provide on the form will be used by Plant Biosecurity Australia to conduct an assessment of the species. Plant Biosecurity is responsible for developing appropriate import conditions before the species can be imported and released from quarantine.
