Wool, Hair and Bristles
Animal Biosecurity is conducting Import Risk Analyses (IRAs) on a number of animal by-products.
- Animal Biosecurity may undertake an IRA of feathers at a later date, subject to priorities and resources.
- An issues paper on wool, hair and bristles from domestic animals was issued on 23/08/02 with stakeholder comments due by 25/10/02. Following consideration of stakeholder comments, a Draft IRA Report will soon be available.
- A draft IRA on hides and skins was released on 01/09/01.
- An IRA on casings was finalised, and conditions were adopted on 03/03/00.
