Climate and agricultural update
The 'BRS Climate and Agriculture Update' is a monthly update of recent and forecast climatic conditions, and irrigation and agricultural production information. The Update is sourced from a variety of agencies including the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Goulburn-Murray Water, the NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources, ABARE, and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries.
Data and information from these agencies is compiled to provide a snapshot of climate and agricultural conditions in Australia in the recent past and near future. Features reported against are of importance to producers and government agricultural policy areas and include:
- seasonal rainfall and temperature conditions
- seasonal rainfall and temperature outlooks
- dam storage levels
- irrigation allocations and prospective allocations, and
- crop and livestock production.
