Steering Committee
The NFI Steering Committee consists of one expert representative from each State and Territory, and one each from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and of the Environment and Heritage.
The Steering Committee gives direction to the NFI and facilitates its collaborative with the Commonwealth, the States and the Territories and reports to the federal ministers for for Fisheries, Forestry and Conservation and for Environment and Heritage. Through them, it reports to the Australian Forestry Council and the Australia and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council. It generally meets twice a year.
