National Farm Forest Inventory NFFI
The National Farm Forest Inventory (NFFI) was established in November 1998 to work with regional, State and other stakeholders to facilitate the collection and interpretation of farm forest data. The NFFI collated the first, and so far only, comprehensive national inventory of farm forests in Australia. That inventory was published in Plantationsof Australia 2001. The NFFI project was not continued after 2001 but the National Plantation Inventory includes available data on farm forests. Currently available information can be found on the Plantations Information Network website.
Farm foresters who would like to include basic data about their forests in a national inventory can use the NFFI data template. Data can be sent to the Private Forestry Development Committee contact in your region.
