Tools for turning knowledge into decisions
The online services team IRS provides online application development skills and advice to BRS programs and external clients both within and outside of DAFF. The team designs, develops and implements websites and online tools to display spatial and non-spatial scientific data in a dynamic environment that allows users to analyse the data to help them make decisions.
Online Services can:
- develop new applications to present scientific data in an interactive and personalised manner such as the Plantation Information Network, Bioenergy Atlas and Integrated Vegetation Online tools
- design, develop and implement custom websites to suit individual needs
- create online versions of hardcopy publications, for example, the Interactive Social Atlas was created from Country Matters 2004
- develop toolsets to automate document creation for online delivery.
