Bilateral Agreements
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry provides advice on the implications for Australia’s fishing industry in Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations – including the Agreements with the United States and Thailand which came into effect in January 2005 – and meets regularly with industry and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to ensure industry’s interests are represented in the negotiations.
