Recreational fishing in Australia is a multi-billion dollar a year industry, and an important leisure activity for over five million Australians.
The government has committed $2 million towards the preparation of a new Recreational Fishing Industry Development Strategy. This will include a review of the 1994 National Recreational Fishing Policy.
