International treaty on plant generic resources for food and agriculture
The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture helps maintain plant genetic resources for food and agriculture and make them available on fair terms.
The Treaty is being established under United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization auspices.
It will cover important sources of seed and other propagating material used by Australian plant breeders to develop new plant varieties. See a National Interest Analysis on the Treaty.
