Frequently Asked Questions

This information is also available in the following format:

1. We are an Adelaide Natural Resource Management Body – can we use the funding to pay for registrations and bus tours.

As some Landcarers in Adelaide do not have travel or accommodation costs funding can be used to pay for the registrations of five eligible individuals to attend the forum. The balance may be used to cover bus tours for these individuals (note the Australian Government will not waiver any additional registrations).

Please note that selection still has to be in accordance with the eligibility criteria in the guidelines.

2. Can we combine the funding to send fewer delegates?

Whilst we can appreciate that travel can be costly – the subsidy is to cover five delegates and cannot be combined. This will, as far as possible, ensure consistency and equity across the regions. We would also encourage NRM bodies to "match" the subsidy or contribute to help ease the financial burden of potential attendees (however, this is not a requirement to participate in administering the subsidy).

3. We have someone who has already registered – but they have been given a subsidy. How will they get their money back?

If an individual has already paid their registration, please notify the department in writing at: dennis.ayliffe@daff.gov.au and copied to Bill.Binks@daff.gov.au.  and we will be able to organise a refund.

4. How can you ensure that the NRM Body will send the right people?

We have requested the NRM bodies send information about the opportunity to apply for a subsidy to all their Landcare networks. We would expect networks to work together to select suitable applicants.  We have also requested NRM bodies to consult their respective National Landcare Forum committee representatives about the applicants. The National Landcare Forum committee representatives will help to ensure, wherever possible, that there is an even geographic spread across the region. The state forum committee representatives are made up of community members from each state and each is actively involved in Landcare.

5. How do I know if my NRM Regional Body is assisting the government to administer this scheme?

Most NRM bodies are helping the government administer the subsidy. If you are unsure whether your NRM regional body is assisting in the scheme please contact your state Caring for our Country sustainable farm practices facilitator. Details of your state facilitator are listed below:
