National Landcare Facilitator
The National Landcare Facilitator (NLF), Coral Love, provides an important interface between the landcare community, the rural sector and the Australian Government. The NLF provides support at the national level for:
-
the landcare movement
-
primary industry appreciation of natural resource management issues, and
-
awareness of Australian Government and natural resource management programs and priorities, especially within the National Landcare Program (NLP).
The NLF:
- provides efficient and effective channels of communication between the Australian Government and the landcare movement, national primary industry and community organisations and other relevant national bodies
- facilitates strategic tasks with the Australian Landcare Council, Landcare Australia Limited, State Landcare Coordinator Network and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry towards coordinated and consistent delivery of the NLP initiatives and directions at the national level that further progresses the NLP objectives and outcomes, and
- coordinates a network of seven state/territory based state landcare coordinators (the positions are administered by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry).
