Making a difference: A celebration of Landcare
Landcare is a national voluntary community movement of around 4500 groups that aim to improve natural resource management practices. Landcare operates mainly in rural Australia, involving 40 per cent of farmers, who manage 60 per cent of land and 70 per cent of the nation’s diverted water.
The Landcare community has made a significant contribution to the health of Australia’s land and waterways and continues to work closely with farmers to boost agricultural productivity.
This book provides articles and stories about the Landcare work of thousands of individuals and communities who have played a part in the Australian Landcare movement over the past 20 years.
Stories include the work of local groups ranging from Darwin to Launceston in Tasmania and Innisfail in Queensland; Indigenous groups ranging from Western Sydney to Western Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory and the international Landcare movement.
